Our goal is to reach as many children on Chicago's west side as possible. Accomplishing that mission depends on the help of the community. Our volunteers are not just baseball coaches. They are mentors, teachers, friends, and supporters. So if you have a desire to pitch in, don't be discouraged because you don't have experience in baseball. Your skills and knowledge can assist the kids in many ways.
Worried about how much time you have to commit? You will be amazed at the impact you can have by volunteering a couple hours each Saturday during a Tee ball season. Witness first hand the effects of offering positive intervention in the lives of kids in the Austin, North Lawndale, and Garfield Park communities. What kind of people usually volunteer? While the large percentage of our volunteers are typically parents, we have many volunteers who joined us because they have heard about the positive things going on at Garfield Park. Some of the professions of our volunteers include firefighters, police officers, teachers, clergy, lawyers, homemakers, office managers, and community activists. How do I volunteer? Register online with this site and complete the volunteer application and return it to our volunteer coordinator. A background check will be conducted. Currently we are collecting information on interested adult volunteers.
